I have been passing this tree almost every day for a year and been tempted by it. It doesn’t bloom, except for the lichen covering it, which is so beautiful and textural that my fingers itch for a camera. Finally I couldn’t stand it, and found a parking place in a nearby neighborhood, hiked in, ran across the highway, and did a few captures. It is a truly magnificent elder statesman of a tree and deserves to be recorded, at all times of year; I’m looking forward to doing a spring capture soon.
And you might notice that I have started watermarking. Alas, in our modern world, one has to protect one’s intellectual property. Sometimes people copy an image innocently (“it’s on the web so it’s in the public domain”), but now that I’ve gotten more serious, I’m not flattered by it. I’ve tried to make the watermark as unobtrusive as possible. I want people to enjoy my images, not try to imagine what they’d look like without my copyright, so feedback is welcome.
